Blue Traces technical requirements - Grand piano - One or two condenser mics on boom stand(s), close-micing the piano. Mic(s) sent to board, with aux send(s) to computer. - Analog (not digital, please) connection from my audio interface to mixing board: 4 outputs from my interface, 1 or 2 inputs depending on number of mics. - Foot pedal at piano. I would provide this, as well as cables to interface it with stage snake (XLRF jack) and FOH snake termination (XLRM plug). I would also bring the box that converts the pedal switch to MIDI for my audio interface. The cable run from stage to FOH must not pass through a DI box or other transformer. - Audio cables to carry mics and pedal signal from piano to mix position - Quad (or larger) speaker system, positioned in stereo pairs, preferably with 4 across the front. - One stage monitor, positioned between piano bench and audience in such a way as to minimize leakage into piano mics. Monitor signal generated at mixing board as a mix of all four output channels. - Adequate setup space at or near mix position for computer rig, which includes laptop, half-rack audio interface, and very small control surface: 24 W x 20 D at a minimum. It will not be possible to move this during the concert.
